I am a chemical engineer specializing in circular economy, environmental management, and sustainable development. I have worked in both the public and private sectors, serving as Vice Minister of Environmental Management at the Ministry of the Environment of Peru (2022–2023), and as a board member of three key national institutions: the National Institute for Quality (INACAL), the National Institute of Health (INS), and the National Service for Environmental Certification of Sustainable Investments (SENACE).
I hold a PhD in Process Engineering from École Centrale de Paris, as well as master’s degrees in Process Engineering and Chemistry from French institutions.
Currently, I am a professor at the National University of San Marcos (UNMSM), where I also served as Director of the Environmental Engineering School. I am co-founder of Cyklos Soluciones Circulares, a consultancy focused on circular economy and sustainability, and Burbuja Verde, an educational initiative that raises awareness among children, youth, and communities about current environmental challenges.
My interests lie at the intersection of science, public policy, and social innovation. I am deeply committed to advancing a just ecological transition in Latin America by building technical capacities, fostering collaboration, and contributing with purpose-driven leadership.
•I would like to join Sustainability Global because I deeply resonate with its vision of building collaborative networks that drive sustainable and transformative solutions worldwide. Through my technical and policy experience in Latin America, I have seen firsthand that environmental challenges are systemic and require integrative, interdisciplinary, and culturally relevant approaches.
I have led the development of public policies on circular economy, waste management, and environmental quality. As a researcher and professor, I promote innovative approaches with my students and collaborate with communities, businesses, and governments in co-creating feasible and sustainable solutions. Through Cyklos, I have been developing digital tools to support environmental compliance and foster sustainability in the private sector.
I see Sustainability Global as a unique platform to connect knowledge, youth, science, and purpose-driven leadership. I am motivated by the opportunity to share experiences from the Global South, learn from colleagues in other contexts, and actively contribute to the development of collaborative initiatives within the Circular Economy and Sustainable Materials pillar.
I hope this participation will be a meaningful way to support new generations of committed scientists and leaders, and to help strengthen the capacities Latin America needs to advance its ecological transition. Sustainability is not a choice—it is the only path to a resilient future.
